The Game — How It Works
Shoot. Save. Compete.
Score more goals than your opponent in five minutes. You shoot one at a time — you take your shot, they defend it, then the shot is theirs and you defend. Neither of you leaves your crease, and there are no teammates. 1v1 · 40 Feet · 5 Minutes · Tennis Ball · Stay In Your Crease · Most Goals Wins.

Tournament Format
How A Champion Is Crowned
Nobody pays for one game. Five guaranteed battles inside your group, then every player in the division goes into the bracket.
6 Groups Of 6
Every division splits into six groups of six players.
5 Guaranteed Battles
Round robin inside your group. Everyone plays all five.
Seeds 1–36
Round-robin results rank the whole division, top to bottom.
Elimination Bracket
Every player makes it. Top four seeds get a bye.
Scoring & Tiebreaker
- Every ball that enters your opponent's net counts as one goal.
- Most goals when the five minutes expire wins the battle.
- Tied at five minutes? Next goal wins — first goal takes it.

The Rules
How To Play
Score more goals than your opponent in five minutes. You shoot one at a time — you take your shot, they defend it, then the shot is theirs and you defend. Neither of you leaves your crease, and there are no teammates.

Shoot Straight Back
Make the save and the next shot is yours. Take it, no delays.
Tennis Ball Only
Tennis ball only — no hard balls. It keeps the pace fast and safe.
Score The Goal
Beat your opponent. Put the ball in the net. Score the goal.
Soft Hands
Watch the ball all the way in. Control every shot you catch.
Stay In Your Crease
Keep one foot in the crease at all times — rebounds included.

Players Must
- Take Turns. One shot at a time. You shoot, they defend — then they shoot and you defend.
- Keep A Foot In. One foot behind your crease line, about 6 feet out, at all times.
- Stick Only. Use only your lacrosse stick to shoot and to save.
- Play Respectfully. Compete hard, play safe, and respect your opponent.

- Delay play intentionally

This is a skills battle. There is no contact in it.

The special event permit cannot be approved in time for 2026, so Goalie Battles moves to 2027. Nobody has been charged. Keep practicing. We will announce the 2027 date here and by email before registration opens.
